Does anyone else think the production on the last album and the new songs are pretty shabby? I hear it mainly in the guitar. It just sounds way too fuzzy and messy. They might be going for that fuzzy sound but tbh i think the songs would be a lot better with a better guitar distortion sound that doesn't sound like its been recorded on a £5 amp!

I see what you mean rodstar, but I believe that's what they have been going for. I feel that a lot of the music they have made would suffer if it was too 'clean' production wise. They need a bit of rawness in the production side imo.
Also, I think I'm correct in saying that Serge records a lot of the guitar parts in a room in his house, which would mean it probably is recorded through a £5 amp! ;D

Completely agree, and I also think that the mixing is getting a bit dodgy. Switchblade is a perfect example of that, it's all over the shop. Can't help but wonder whether some of this stuff has been rushed. On Days Are Forgotten though, completely different story - sounds like it's been produced, mixed and mastered to within an inch of its life!!

I feel sometimes during choruses Tom's voice needs to be made louder and Serge's needs to be made quieter. No offense to Serge of course I just feel they aren't making the best use of Tom's voice.

Ye the vocals are too quiet at times. I've noticed it on Switchblade Smiles. The ooo on the can you hear it coming bit is too quiet. The general production on the song is pretty messy. I'm surprised that they can listen to that and still keep it how it is.
I think its about time Kasabian got a proper quality producer for the next record. Serge needs to step off his high horse and except that he does not have the necessary production skills for what is needed. He's also started singing way too much. Sometimes his voice can be good but a lot of the time it sounds very whiny and forced. Anyone agree?
I would bet that the song Velociraptor won't have the same energy on the record as it is live, just like fire from the last album. They need to find a way to transmit there live energy to cd.
Anyway i will stop moaning now lol Im sure it will be a good album!

It worked for the last album but the inclusion of the "vinyl effect" on Re-wired takes the song down a couple notches for me. If they go with Dan the Automator again I'm going to be pretty disappointed. Who produced the first album? Go with that guy.
