Hi,
Does anyone on here own the vinyl version of Velociraptor and opened/played it?
Well, if you haven't checked it yet you'll be in for a big suprise as the labels/song titles don't match up with what's on the actual vinyl.
This is what is printed on the labels:
Side A: Let's Roll Just Like We Used To Days Are Forgotten Goodbye Kiss
Side B: La Fee Verte Velocirator!
Side C: Acid Turkish Bath (Shelter From The Storm) I Hear Voicesre-Wired
Side D: Man Of Simple Pleasures Switchblade Smiles Neon Noon
This is the actual running order:
Side A: Let's Roll Like We Used To Days Are Forgotten Goodbye Kiss
Side B: La Fée Verte Velociraptor! Acid Turkish Bath (Shelter From The Storm)
Side C: I Hear Voices Re-Wired Man Of Simple Pleasures
Side D: Switchblade Smiles Neon Noon
A bit of a monumental mess up by someone who's in charge of printing labels.

I've just heard that there's been another batch of these LP's pressed with the supposed correct labels and running order on them this time.
I've got one on order so will confirm once it arrives.
I'm not sure how many of the mislabled one's are in circulation but it would be worth hanging onto them as they could be a bit rarer than the regular corrected pressings.

I thought the vinyl was on limited 2000 so thought there would be no more pressings ,strange.Did anybody find the inner sleeve was hard to get into the outer sleeve and mine had a few marks on it but it plays alright so I suppose that's the main thing

It's true. I bought one off Ebay and got a message a week later saying I had to wait for the supplier to fire out some more to the guy. I got it last week and it's been sorted.
Gutted a bit, those misprints are a bit more interesting.
I heard an initial batch of 1,000! Maybe there will only be two batches or something. I'd imagine they felt obilged to make more after the fuck up.

You're definitely right with that one, initial batch was only 1,000, what I imagine happened was once they realised the error they stopped all the suppliers placing orders etc and set about withdrawing the old batch and manufacturing the 2nd batch of another 1,000. I don't believe for 1 minute that initial batch was all sold out, be hard to gage how many there actually are though.

I got mine through what records and about just under 2 wks ago I phoned up bout my original order and he said they still had some in stock ,so maybe if you want the misprinted label they might still have some unless theyve been recalled too.

That explains why there were no copies for the HMV signing! The guy in HMV said that they only initially ordered 10 copies for the Oxford Street store, but when they went to order some more for the signing, they were told it had been discontinued!
Can't understand how you could make such a monumental mistake like that with the labels - part of my job involves proof reading for printing and we'd never dare to miss something as massively wrong as that. That's really poor attention to detail!

Also I tried to order the vinyl from hmv preorder and it said out of stock and just assumed it said this so they had enough copies in Oxford street .Did anyone manage to get one from the hmv preorder allocation or was their order delayed.

Anyone that has a mispressed version is lucky. They could be worth a bit in a few years time!

That's good to hear then , but I will still play it ,got to get some enjoyment out of it.Funnily enough I nearly sent it back as it kept jumping on rewired but played it on my other turntable and it was fine.Otherwise now I would be kicking myself

I have 2 misprinted copies which I got from my local record shop on 18th, and I suspect I'm one of the first people to realise and post about it. I've also told the band about it about two weeks later and they were not aware of it, lol!
According to my local record shop info, the first batch is 1000 - so now I'm looking forward to getting another 'correct' copy just to have Turkish Bath in its proper place.

I've just bought the West Ryder EP that was free with the german magazine.
On my media player it's coming up that it's the Club Foot EP. Track listing totally wrong!

I'm guessing that rather than it having the wrong music on the CD, it's just not tagged correctly in whatever database your media player is using to retreive the information.
