I wonder if this has anything to do with their stated ambition of recording an album with no guitars? If they do decide to make an electronic album, this could be the perfect time to mend fences with Chris Karloff, if only for a few songs...

It has more to do with them not doing much at the moment and Beady Eye needing a bassist a bit urgently.

Here for example. But don't they always say that? I usually took it to mean something like they literally have no idea what the next album will sound like at this point in time, there might not be any guitars on it, who knows? Although Serge said yesterday that he wants to "destroy guitars" and probably not in a Townshend way. We'll just have to wait and see anyway.

Went to the comic relief gig yesterday ,the new guitarist was there .It was a bit wierd seeing some stranger playing but he seemed to enjoy himself.I watched the highlights this morning and was disappointed in how Fire sounded (flat) but there the 3 songs sounded great and opening with switchblade..Where I was there was a few fans so at least I didn't look like a numpty ,I know I have veered off from the topic , sorry but how you miss them and that's set me up for TCT

I thought it sounded a bit weird on the broadcast. It's usually quite hit or miss with those TV things, good to know it sounded better in person. The new guy is Tim Carter, by the way, and after pestering the Facebook elves we finally got something like an official announcement, isn't that spectacular? They didn't even plan on saying anything. |
