Might make the trip for this. It's been a piss poor year for gigs so far for us.
Anyone know of cheap Travelodge type hotels near the Academy?

Lovely .Nice short trip on the northern line for me.Last time they played Brixton I was on my hols and kicking myself .Just hope I manage to get tickets.Im not sure where to stay cheaply but the areas round Brixton ,dodgy to say the least just be careful and have a look on trip advisor.Im from sutton and there's a holiday inn, but aren't the Olympics still on and hotel prices will be hiked. So probably be best out in the suburbs

I'll have a look at places further out. No chance of a bunk for 3 in yer spare room?? ;D

Not sure how far you're willing to travel, but Travelodge Croydon is within a 40 minute bus ride of Brixton (quicker late at night when the roads are quiet), and the buses back to Croydon run all night. It's also close to East Croydon station if you'd prefer train and tube.

Yes I was thinking of Croydon cause travelodge was cheap and the premier inn was cheap but if you're a northerner I think Croydon would be a big shock.I wouldn't go Croydon during day I mean my partners family lives there and hOld on tight to they're stuff during the day.I feel safer walking down main stretch of Brixton than Croydon.I thought round clap ham , balham or round Putney would be better for a non Londoner than Croydon. Or round walworth way. If anyone comes from Croydon sorry but it's not to clever

Thanks for the info you two (thanks for pm Angkaz!). I lived near Seven Sisters for 3 years, so not averse to a bit of rough although not sure how that compares to Brixton/Croydon. But that was many years ago. I'm a bit suburb softer these days, and I'm going with the Mrs, so could do with avoiding hassle. I'll check out all your suggestions. Keep them coming if you have anymore. Meantime, any idea when/if this will be announced?

Hahaha, I live near Croydon and grew up there! I don't think it's that bad and I have no problem walking through the town at night on my own. But then I've lived in and around Croydon all my life so I'm probably used to it!

Anymore news on this? I go away for 10 days mid July (Benicassim! Yay!) but would hate to miss tickets going on sale for these gigs.
